[edit] Biography
The band was formed before the release of the movie of the same name, although two years after the release of the book. [3] In 2005, they released a demo entitled Patterns of a Horizon. During that time, they signed to Rise Records, and rerecorded their demo as their first full length album, entitled Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord, released on August 22, 2006. The album mixed metalcore with elements of post-hardcore. They released Plagues, the follow up to Dear Love on August 21, 2007. In a recent interview with East Coast Romper, the band states their influences are Underoath and Still Remains. Mike Hranica, the band's vocalist, also manages a clothing company called Shipshape Clothing with which he sponsors and endorses bands. Some of Shipshape's sale money goes to charities such as Skate 4 Cancer, etc. They will begin writing and recording a new album after the Warped Tour for a planned release of 2009 on their new record label, Ferret. [4] On Warped Tour, they announced that they were filming some of their performances for an upcoming DVD.
