Scott Ian Rosenfeld is an American musician who is best known as the rhythm guitarist and co-founder of the Thrash metal band Anthrax. He is the main lyricist of the band writing most of the bands lyrics through their career while drummer Charlie Benate writes most of the bands music. Outside of Anthrax, Ian is the guitarist of the Crossover thrash band which he is the guitarist and lyricist. Ian is noticeably a fan of hip-hop and was close friends with Chuck D of Public Enemy which lead to Anthrax collaborating with them on their hit song "Bring the Noise" which noticeably had a Rap Metal sound is shown to have paved the way to the rise of Nu metal with bands such as Korn, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park rising to popularity.
