Death
Welcome to Metal Wiki, the ultimate metal database
Death was an influential American death metal band founded in 1983 by guitarist and vocalist Chuck Schuldiner. The band split up after Schuldiner's death in 2001. They are widely regarded as one of the most influential groups in death metal. The band's label début Scream Bloody Gore is considered a template of the genre, described by critics as "death metal's first archetypal document". Schuldiner was the only member to remain in the band from start to end (although even he was not ever-present). Music biographers have referred to Schuldiner as the "father of death metal".
