Album overview[]

3-d

3-D, the second (and final) release from Wrathchild America, even though it was less heavy than their debut, had a wider range to it, rather than just being (mostly) thrash metal. The band’s sense of humor remained intact though, with their songs of “Surrounded By Idiots” and the cover of “I Ain’t Drunk, I’m Just Drinkin’”.

Although the opener of “3-D Man”,“What’s Your Pleasure?” and “...Idiots” were primarily thrash metal with some tempo changes, “Gentleman Death” and “Forever Alone” were more mid-paced than thrash, and the majority of “Another Nameless Face” was mostly mid-paced power metal.

However, “Draintime” and “Desert Grins” alternated between being slow and thrash, “Spy” was mostly jazz, the instrumental “Prego” combined power metal, thrash and jazz, “...Drinkin’” combined metal with blues, and “//” (pronounced “parallel lines”) was mostly thrash...until the reggae part in the middle and end of the song.

The album was released in 1991 through Atlantic Recording Corporation.
